Urban Talent
LLAA is dedicated to helping individuals reach their full potential. Many affected and talented individuals have no platform to showcase their talent. LLAA partners with venues and music industry personnel to allow this dream to personify.
Royalty for a Day
LLAA understands that personal care is an essential and basic ingredient to self-esteem. Several times a year, YWCA-EUC designate three women to receive essential services at an aligned personal care salon. These women receive personal products such as toothpaste, toothbrushes and hair products donated by sponsors. These services include hair care tips and massage service to facilitate stress relief.
Cooking for My Health
Proper nutritional balance is an integral part of prolonged health and sustained well-being. LLAA has partnered with local catering companies to extend services to women that seek to enter the catering field and additionally offer tips to others on healthy eating habits and cost effective cooking.
Defense Program
This program will allow intense training in personal defense tactics by a Defense Expert trainer and provide healthy physical exercise that will further self-esteem building. Introductory level training will also be provided for children. This will provide families an avenue of how to react to a life-threatening incident and how to be proactive and vigilant.
Computer Program
Computer knowledge and awareness is now considered a normal everyday aspect of life, even for those re-entering the workforce and useful for everyday household needs. Local computer schools will extend Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced software training. Upon completion, certificates will be issued and job placement services provided.
